01st Feb. 2015:
1)       Leander Paes and Martina Hingis wins the Australian open Mixed Doubles Title after defeating Daniel Nestor and Kristina Mladenovic.
2)       Novak Djokovic defeated Andy Murray to win his fifth Australian Open title.
3)       TV actor Gautam Gulati wins the Big Boss 8.

02nd Feb. 2015
1)      India and China jointly launched the Visit India Year in China in Beijing.
2)      Pakistan conducted a successful flight test of the indigenously developed Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) named ‘Ra’ad’.
3)      Iran has launched its Fajr (Dawn) observation satellite using a Safir-2 rocket, its first launch since 2012 and declared that it has safely entered orbit.

04th Feb. 2015:
1)      World Cancer Day (WCD) 2015 was observed across the world.
2)      India has been placed at 29th rank among the 30 countries in the international intellectual property (IP) index released by U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Global Intellectual Property Center (GIPC). US has been placed at the top in the list and Thailand at last position.

05th Feb. 2015:
1)       1979-batch IAS officer LC Goyal of Kerala cadre appointed as the Union Home Secretary.

06th Feb. 2015:
1)      Greece Parliament has elected Zoe Konstantopoulou, a member of the left wing party Syriza as its new President.

07th Feb. 2015:
1)       A record 67.08 per cent turnout was registered in the Delhi assembly polls.
2)       Eminent Marathi litterateur Bhalachandra Nemade has been chosen for the 50th Jnanpith Award for 2014.

08th Feb. 2015:
1)      The 57th Annual Grammy Awards were held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

09th Feb. 2015:
1)      Adani Enterprises Ltd  signed a pact with the Rajasthan government to develop the country’s largest solar park in the state with 10,000 MW capacity over the next 10 years at an estimated investment of about Rs 40,000 crore.

10th Feb. 2015:
1)   Aam Adami Party gets absolute majority with 67 seats in Delhi Assembly Election. BJP gets 3 seats and none for Congress Party.
2)   Economist and Nobel laureate Amartya Sen has won the newly instituted Charleston-EFG John Maynard Keynes Prize 2015.
3)   The ICICI Bank has launched India’s first digital Bank on mobile phones, Pockets.

11th Feb. 2015: 
1)      Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh on launched the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS) project in the state.

12th Feb. 2015:
       1)  Pramod Asthana appointed as head of Special Investigation Team to reinvestigate 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
2)      The leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France signed a Ceasefire deal after marathon talks at Minsk, the capital of Belarus.

13th Feb. 2015:
1)      Today is observed as World Radio Day.
2)      The Russian-backed Iranian nuclear power station Bushehr and the Kudankulam Indian nuclear power plant projects were named projects of the year 2014 by the US Power Engineering magazine in the “Nuclear energy” category.

14th Feb. 2015:
1)       Arvind Kejriwal of Aam Adami Party takes oath as 8th Chief Minister of Delhi.
2)       The Cricket World Cup 2015 starts from today with the inauguration match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
3)       England pacer Steven Finn took the first hat-trick of the 2015 World Cup to become the seventh bowler to do so in the history of the event.
4)      The 35th National Games of India concluded at Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala). Services Sports Control Board emerged overall champion and winner of the Raja Bhalendra Singh Trophy for the third consecutive time. Services have won total 159 medals including 91 Gold Medals.

15th Feb. 2015:
1)       India beat Pakistan by 76 runs in their first match of Cricket World Cup 2015 in Adelaide to keep the unbeaten record against Pakistan in World Cup.
2)       "Taxi" by Iranian director Jafar Panahi won the Golden Bear prize for best film at the 65th Berlin International Film Festival.

16th Feb. 2015:
1)       Former Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra RR Patil died at the age of 57 in Mumbai. He was suffering from cancer.
2)       India signed a nuclear energy agreement with Sri Lanka.
3)       The auction for the Indian Premier League (IPL)-8 held in Bangalore.

17th Feb. 2015:
1)      India born Punit Renjen appointed as the next chief executive of US-based accounting giant Deloitte's global operations.
2)       Three Indians included into the list of 100 applicants who will move on to the next round of private mission that aims to send people on a one-way trip to Mars in 2024.

19th Feb. 2015:
1)       India has successfully test-fired nuclear-capable surface-to-surface Prithvi II missile with a range of 350 km from Balasore.
2)      Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the centrally sponsored nation-wide ‘Soil Health Card’ (SHC) scheme in Suratgarh town of Sriganganagar district, Rajasthan. The nationwide scheme will help farmers to scientifically analyse the soil of farms in the country.
3)       Mumbai's Maratha Mandir theater today run the last show of the blockbuster film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge after continuously running it for 1000 weeks.

20th Feb. 2015:
1)       Jitan Ram Manjhi resigned from the post of Chief Minister of Bihar.
2)      After Indian Independence, for the first time Arunachal Pradesh is connected to the rest of the nation through railway network. PM Narendra Modi inaugurate the Naharlagun Delhi Rajdhani Express from Itanagar.
3)      Brendon McCullum scores the fastest fifty in World Cup history with 18 balls. His achievement comes in a match against England.

21st Feb. 2015:
1)       Nitish Kumar of the Janata Dal United took oath as CM of Bihar for fourth times along with 22 ministers.
2)       Maldives Polices arrested former president Mohamed Nasheed under an anti-terror law for the alleged illegal detention of a judge.
3)      The International Mother Language Day 2015 was celebrated all over the world.

22nd Feb. 2015:
1)      Former India captain Anil Kumble and Australian legend Betty Wilson were inducted into the International Cricket Council Hall of Fame on 22 February at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia. Kumble and Wilson became the 77th and 78th inductees into the Hall of Fame. Kumble is the fourth Indian to be included in the elite group other three includes Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev and Bishan Bedi.

23rd Feb. 2015:
1)      AAP MLA Ram Niwas Goyal was elected as the Speaker and Bandana Kumari as the Deputy Speaker on Delhi Assembly session.
2)       The Oscar awards for 2015 given today at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Julianne Moore has won the Academy Award for best actress for "Still Alice". Eddie Redmayne won the best actor award for Theory of Everything. The movie Birdman wins the four awards including Best Movie.

24th Feb. 2015:
1)      BJP and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) decided to form a coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir. PDP's Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to Take Oath as J&K Chief Minister on Sunday.
2)      Rajendra K Pachauri has quit as chairman of the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
3)      Chris Gayle scores the first double century in World Cup history. His partnership with MN Samuels of 372 becomes the highest partnership in ODI history.
4)      The United States announced that it would allow work permits to spouses of H-1B visa holders from 26 May 2015.

26th Feb. 2015:
1)      Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu presents the first railway budget of NDA government in Lok Sabha.

28th Feb. 2015:
1)      Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presents the present the 2015-16 federal budget in Lok Sabha.

MISCELLANEOUS

1)      India was ranked 136 out of 180 nations worldwide in terms of press freedom in 2015, which marks an improvement from its rank of 140 in 2014, even though its absolute score declined from 40.34 to 40.49. Finland on the 1st position followed by Norway and Denmark.
2)      The 15th Delhi Sustainable Development Summit was held from 5-7 February 2015 in New Delhi.The theme of the summit was Sustainable Development Goals and Dealing with Climate Change.The summit was organized by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI).
3)      Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam visited India from 8 – 11 February 2015.
4)      Indore MP and Loksabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan’s name was included in the LIMCA book of records. Her name was included for being the only woman of the country to represent the same Lok Sabha constituency on the same party ticket for eight times in a row. As a leader of BJP, she represents the Indore constituency of Lok Sabha in Madhya Pradesh. For the first time she was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1989. Since then she has been re-elected to the Lok Sabha in 1991, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2004, 2009 and 2014.
