presenting the first practice set of Time & Work Questions on the special
demand of one of our sincere visitor, Mr. Anurag. This practice set contains 20
Questions of the same pattern as we had discussed on this blog in our previous
posts related to this topic. I hope that you will be solve these questions, in
case any problem you may ask for help by sending the “solution required for
question no......” in comment or through forum.
Q1. 20 men can do a piece of work in 8
days. How many men are needed to complete the work in 10 days?
Ans. 16 men.
Q2. 16 men can do a work in 10 days.
How many men can do the same work in 40 days?
Ans. 4 men.
Q3. 15 men can do a work in 6 days. How
many men can do the same work in 3 days?
Ans. 30 men.
Q4. 30 men working 7 hours a day can do
a work in 18 days. In how many days 21 men working 8 hours a day do the same
work?
Ans. 22.5 days.
Q5. 20 women can prepare 40 articles in
24 days working 18 hours a day. Then in how many days can 36 women prepare 48
articles working 16 hrs. a day?
Ans. 18 days.
Q6. 5 men can make 10 toys in 6 days
working 6 hours a day. In how many days can 12 men make 16 toys working 8 hours
a day?
Ans. 3 days.
Q7. 10 men can make 20 toys in 3 days
working 12 hours a day. In how many days can 24 men make 32 toys working 4 hours
a day?
Ans. 6 days.
Q8. 40 men can cut 60 trees in 8 hours.
If 8 men leave the job, How many trees will be cut in 12 hours?
Ans. 72 trees.
Q9. A group of men can do a work in 15
days, but 2 of them become absent. If the rest of the group did the work in 20
days, find the original number of men.
Ans. 8 men.
Q10. A certain number of men can do a work
in 40 days. If there were 5 men more it could be finished in 5 days less. How
many men are there?
Ans. 35 men.
Q11. A certain number of men can do a work
in 160 days. If there were 18 men more it could be finished in 20 days less.
How many men were originally there?
Ans. 126 men.
Q12. A certain number of men can do a work
in 60 days. If there were 8 men more it could be finished in 10 days less. How
many men were originally there?
Ans. 40 men.
Q13. A certain number of men can do a
work in 40 days. If there were 6 men less it could be finished in 15 days more.
How many men are there?
Ans. 22 men.
Q14. 38 men, working 6 hours a day can
do a piece of work in 12 days. Find the number of days in which 57 men working
8 hours a day can do twice the work. Assume that 2 men of the first group do as
much work in 1 hour as 3men of the second group do in 1
hours.
Ans. 27 days.
Q15. A group of men decided to do a work
in 10 days but 5 men of them became absent. If the rest of men of the group did
the work in 12 days. Find the original number of men in the group.
Ans. 30 men.
Q16. A group of men decided to do a work
in 12 days but 8 men of them became absent. If the rest of men of the group did
the work in 20 days. Find the original number of men in the group.
Ans. 30 men.
Q17. A can do a work in 20 days and B
can do the same work in 30 days. How long will they take to complete the same
work, working together?
Ans. 12 days.
Q18. A and B can do a work in 6 days. If
A alone can do the same work in 9 days; then how long will B take to do the same
work alone?
Ans. 18 days.
Q19. A can do a job in 10 days, B can do
the same job in 12 days and C can do the same job in 15 days. In how many days
they will finish the work together?
Ans. 4 days.
Q20. A can do a job in 10 days, B can do
the same job in 12 days and C can do the same job in 15 days. In how many days
they will finish the work together?
Ans. 5
days.
